About Let's Dance Shoes 

Who are we?

If these are your questions, please read on. We think you'll discover that we have a long history in dance and you can trust that we know our stuff.

Our Dance History:
We have been privileged to call Port Macquarie home since late 1992 when the calling of a 'sea-change' encouraged us to leave the big smoke for a relaxed and safe environment for families, away from the hustle & bustle of the city, and long travelling hours. 
Let's Dance Rock 'n Roll Girls
In 1994, we became interested in 'Jive', then progressed to Rock & Roll in January 1995. Within a month we had a small group of dance-lovers wanting to learn from us. Within six months, we had enough dancers to form a Social Club, then known as ‘Rock and Roll Dreams Dance Club’ and later as ‘Port Rockers’.
Dances
In 2000, our Club was taken under the wing of our local RSL Club and the ‘Port Macquarie RSL Rock and Roll Dance Club’ evolved , now known as Port Macquarie Panthers Rock and Roll Dance Club. We continued with lessons in Four Step and Six Step Rock and Roll, and introduced Social Cha-cha, Slow Swing Jive, and Partnered and Line dances. 

After expanding our learning areas along the Mid-north coast we changed our name to 'Let's Dance Rock and Roll' (www.letsdancernr.com.au), and now cover from Forster (south) to Nambucca Heads (north) with weekly lessons.

In 2007, after a few years of sourcing proper dance shoes for our students, we decided that there was a need for a dance shoe outlet to spread the word on quality footwear and it's benefits. So 'Let's Dance Shoes' was our creation, giving dancer's so many options for style and comfort in a number of different genre's.

And that's our own dance history in a nutshell.

If your feet feel good you can dance all night.

If you’re going to learn to dance you’re going to need appropriate footwear, just as you would for any other sport.
Sandshoes, joggers or casual sandals are just not going to cut the grade, no matter what you've been told.

That is why we have taken the time to source a full range of 'dance-specific' footwear from  Australia and overseas.

So what does 'dance-specific' mean?
Just as sports shoe manufacturer's have different specifications for different sports, dance shoes require certain specifications too.

  • That the rear of the heel is strong to hold your foot steady in the shoe. 
  • That the metal bar (where applicable) through the sole will be strong, yet flexible enough to allow your foot to bend.
  • That the toe has been reinforced for your protection.
  • That quality materials have been used to give you the longest possible life out of your shoe choice.
